Calling all theater-enthusiasts, creatives, performers, artists, and storytellers… 

BLACKstage is back!

BLACKstage has been in a brief hibernation, but we are THRILLED to formally revive the group this year!

It’s essential that everyone who wants to be involved has agency, and this space is meant to amplify your voices as we think about the future of BLACKstage. This company is not just for “theater people;" ALL artists are welcome, and all forms of creativity are valuable for creating impactful theater.

Season selection meeting

It’s time to decide what shows to do next year and who will be leading us! Our season selection meeting will be on Sunday, May 1st in Ujamaa Drake Lounge. At the meeting, we’ll read through all the show proposals, watch clips from the shows, discuss our vision for the year, and vote. We’ll also hear from everyone who’s interested in a position for the season and vote to choose our 22-23 Company Leadership. (List of roles can be found here.)

You can use this form to propose a show, and this link to apply for Leadership. Blackstage is committed to creating a space where absolutely no experience is necessary. We hope creatives of all backgrounds will apply, especially those who have never been involved in theater making before. If you aren’t interested in proposing a show or running for a position, we encourage you to attend anyway to help us make decisions for the upcoming season! RSVP here. BLACK ARTISTS AWARDS

In observance of Tracy Oliver's '07 and Issa Rae's '07 mission to uplift Black creativity, we want to celebrate and recognize the amazing art Black students have created this year. On May 28th, we are hosting the first annual Black Artists Awards: an awards ceremony to honor Black student artists at Stanford.
